Baby Olivia

One of my other very close friends, Amanda, just had a little baby girl. Olivia Nichole Killen was born on May 27th at 1:29pm weighing 6 lbs 13 oz and 19.75 in long. I got to go and visit her and baby the following morning at the hospital. What a little cutie she is! We are so excited for you and Rich on your little one and I hope that her and our new addition will be great friends growing up just like we've been!
Here is a picture of Amanda, Erica and I just weeks before Olivia was born out to dinner. We are all expecting...Amanda 37 weeks, Me 25.5 weeks and Erica 6 weeks. So fun!

Baby Hudson

One month ago yesterday, my best friend Kristen had her first child, Hudson James Crisp. He was born at 6:05pm on Friday, May 6th weighing 7 lbs, 9 oz and 20.5 in long. I was fortunate enough to be in the waiting room after his proud papa brought him out just minutes after being brought into this world. What a precious little guy he is! I was able to record his first bath, shots, fingerprints, etc. for his mommy since she missed all of it. I loved him from the first second I laid eyes on him. We all couldn't be happier for Kristen and Brian and we can't wait to watch him grow up. Hopefully him and our new edition will be great friends as they grow up just like Kristen and I were. He truly is a beautiful little baby! Here are a few pics of my mom and I spending some time with Kristen and Hudson yesterday...isn't he just the cutest thing you have ever seen?!?! Kristen looks absolutely amazing by the way! I hope I'm the same way after having a baby.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Last Friday, my parents celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary! I got to go out to dinner with the two of them and we had lots to celebrate! Going to be a good year :) Happy Anniversary mom and dad! Thank you for all that you do for us everyday.

Thank Goodness She's Recovering

Last month, we had a scare...my mom developed a really bad case of pneumonia out of nowhere. She was in the hospital for two weeks, had to have a surgery to remove stuff from her lung and they had to break her rib in order to get in there to take care of things properly. She had very poor treatment for the first week, causing her to be in icu for the remainder of the time. We got to bring her home from the hospital on Easter Sunday which was such a huge relief. She was very frail and weak for the first few weeks but started making big improvements once she was able to come home and see Bear :) It's amazing what comfort an animal can bring you. We are all so happy that she is getting better everyday and gaining her strength back. We love you mom and don't know what we would do without you. So glad that you are feeling pretty much back to yourself again!

Anniversary Road Trip

Last weekend, Houston and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. It was my year to plan our trip so I decided to do something that was somewhat close to home since I wasn't quite sure what our work schedules would be. We spent one night at a hotel in the Gasslamp District of Downtown San Diego, it was great to be in the middle of the hussle and bussle of the city. There are so many cool bars and restaurants in one small area. The next morning we got up and had a yummy breakfast at The Broken Yoke, as seen on Man vs. Food, and yes it was as good as it looked on TV! We did not attempt to eat that giant omelet though :) Then the next day, we headed over to Mission and Pacific Beach for the afternoon. We rented bikes to ride on the boardwalk, stopped in to a few bars, shopped a little, ate some really good food, played pool and relaxed. It was such a perfect day! We left there to check in to our hotel room in La Jolla which was the same hotel that we stayed at when we got engaged 4 1/2 years ago. Hard to believe that much time has gone by. We had dinner that night at the Crab Catcher (where Houston proposed) and the food was just as good as I remembered it! The next day we went to the San Diego Zoo which I had never been to before. That was tons of fun! Very different from the zoos that I've been to in Arizona. We stopped by this funky little taco shop called Lucha Libre after the zoo, another Man vs. Food stop, for a tasty burrito that Houston had been eyeing ever since we watched the episode. The morning we left, we stopped in at Kona's on the beach for a little breakfast before we made the drive home...it was the perfect ending to the trip and so relaxing sitting there listening to the ocean. The weather was amazing the entire trip, the perfect little getaway for a few days that both of us needed very much! Happy 4th wedding Anniversary babe! I love you so much!!

Disneyland!

What can I say?? ...it really is the happiest place in the world :) Houston and I did a quick turn around trip to visit some of his family that was in Southern California for a few days. We had an amazing time! His sister Sherami, her husband Pablo and son Harrison were there with Houston's mom and we got to spend the whole day riding rides, eating yummy food, catching up and trying to stay warm. Yeah, unfortunately it was a cold and rainy day but we definitely made the most of it. We wish we got to see them more, one day was certainly not enough time but it was still very nice. Harrison was adorable and loved Disneyland so much. Luckily for him, it wasn't his first trip there...he seems to visit there more than most kids would dream of. He's hysterical and had us laughing all day with his facial expressions, dance moves and sense of humor. We love you all and thanks for letting us join in on the fun for a day!

Winter Wonderland Adventure

We recently joined our good friends Mike and Jen up in Colorado for a little skiing/snowboarding and just enjoying time in the cold weather. The snow really is so beautiful, you forget how pretty it is when you don't get to see it very often. If you don't already know, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Colorado...everything about it from the endless mountain views, clean-fresh air, outdoor activities, fishing, (Houston loves the hunting) and the gorgeous landscape everywhere you go! Plus it reminds me of when I was a kid and we would spend a month at a time with all of our family playing, camping and having the best time of our lives. Looking back, it really was some of the greatest times with my cousins, aunts and uncles creating memories that we still cherish today. Houston and I would really like to purchase land there one day to build our cabin for retirement. We'd love for our kids and grandchildren to be able to enjoy Colorado one day like we do. Well, Jen is lucky enough from a cute little town, Boulder, CO. So where we went was definitely some of her old stomping grounds. We had such a great time...here are a few pics.
